What to wear?

JUDO GIs

Judo gis are the traditional uniforms for judokas, made from durable cotton and consisting of a jacket, trousers, and belt. Designed for training and competition, the judogi offers freedom of movement and grip for techniques. Available in various sizes, the white gi is formal while the blue is used for specific high-level competitions, symbolizing a judoka's dedication to the sport.

No Gi, No Problem...

No gi? No worries! Just put on a long-sleeved shirt and sweatpants. Avoid zippers, metal, jewellery, and hairpins.

After that, feel free to chat with one of our senseis about purchasing a gi from our club inventory.

Under your gi

In formal settings and competitions, only women are permitted to wear a plain white t-shirt under their gi.

However, during winter, due to the colder training conditions, we allow our members to wear both long-sved rash guards and fitted leggings beneath their gi.

To protect your gis, your wallet, and your partners, it's essential to care for your gis properly. Make sure to wash your gi right after each training session Use cold water to maintain the fabric and prevent shrinkage. Regular detergent works well, but avoid bleach as it can harm the fibers. Air drying is the preferred method, as it helps to prevent shrinkage and fading of colors.
